STEINMANN
CUP AND TERRITORIAL III CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTA RESULTS
Green Pond YC - Green Pond, NJ
Bob & Katha Griswold from Green Pond Yacht Club swept the
Steinmann Cup and Territory III Championships with solid wins
of 1, 1, 1, and a throw out of yes, you guessed it, 1! What a
nice way to win the beautiful Silver Comet logos in such style!
Additionally, Highland Lks hosted the Steinmann Memorial which
netted the same winners with of Joe McCann and James Napolitano (HL junior) in Second place and Talbott & Lee Ingram in
third. Wind conditions for these regatta were very light and shifty
for the 16 boats that competed. HL was proud to host these regattas!
Thanks to all the local comet sailors who cooked, hosted, baked,
trained, race committeed and all the other volunteer jobs needed
to run a regatta. The regatta went beautifully. Thanks to all
who came in support. |

Junior Nationals
Green Pond YC - Green Pond, NJ
Toms River Jr. takes Jr. National Championship! 11 Junior teams
competed for the National title for the Comets. What a great time
was had by all. The less experienced tacked and jibed their respective
ways for exciting sailing on Friday August 10. Boats attended
from Stone Harbor, Shrewsbury, Toms River, Green Pond and Highland
Lakes Yacht Clubs for a full roster of talent. Sailing conditions
were shifty winds and dodging storms throughout the race day.
Results were: 1- TRYC Mederthander/Widdis 2- SSYC Ingram/Layton 3- HLCC Buruchian/Smith After sailing, juniors and their
parents had a beach party with volleyball barbecue then relaxed
at the Club watching movies. |
